ShopRite set to leave Nigerian market after 15 years


South Africa's grocery retailer, ShopRite is set to leave the Nigerian market after serving the West African country for 15 years.

This announcement is coming after the company said it had been approached by potential financial specialists who are ready to assume control over its Nigerian activities. Thus, the company is willing to sell off its operations or a lion Share in it's Nigerian auxillary.

South Africa's retailers have battled to come up in Nigeria especially after Mr Prince recently left the Nigerian Market and now, ShopRite is withdrawing from the country.

The unfavourable business climate in Nigeria most especially during this period of a global pandemic is also part of the withdrawal of the popular ShopRite from the Nigerian market.
