I am ready to sign death warrant of musician accused of blasphemy - Kano State Governor

Kano State Governor, Abdullah Ganduje has said that he is very prepared and ready to sign the the death warrant of the 22 year old musician sentenced to death for blaspheming against Allah in his song.

Recall that Yahaya Sherif was in early August sentenced to death by an Upper Shari'a Court in Kano for blaspheming against Allah and insulting Prophet Muhammad in his song which went viral on whatsApp in March.

The Governor in a meeting with religious leaders and legal practitioners said if the accused does not appeal the judgement of the Shari'a Court within the 30 days of grace, and the death warrant is brought before him, he won't even waste a minute to sign it.

"What happened is so important to the state and to the security of the state and country in general. What the court did is absolutely right and we support it...
I will not waste time in signing the warrant of execution of the man who blasphemed our Holy Prophet of Islam."
