TRAGIC: Nigeria's first female combatant helicopter pilot dies at 25


Tolulope Arotile, a very young, vibrant, beautiful and promising lady who happens to be the first female combat helicopter pilot in Nigeria is dead. It is just eight months after her special recognition and she was 25.

TheCable gathered that she died from head injuries sustained in a road accident along the Nigeria Air Force(NAF) base in Kaduna on Tuesday.

Tolulope Arotile hailed from Kogi state in Ijimu Local Government Area. Untill her death, she was a member of the Nigerian Defense Academy Regular Course 64, where she eventually emerged as the first female combat helicopter pilot in Nigeria. 


She was commissioned as the first female combat helicopter pilot on October 15, 2019 following the completion of her course at the Starlight Training Academy in South Africa.

The late Tolulope was said to have lived a very short but impactful life and had contributed immensely to the fight against banditry and several other combat missions in Minna, Niger state.


The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar commiserated with the Nigerian Air Force as a whole and the family of the deceased for loosing a young Icon.
