Lagos to fully reopen economy and worship centres

The Lagos State governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has said that the Lagos State government is considering full reopening of its economy and worship centres.

This was decided after the State's Security Council meeting held at the state house on Sunday.

The governor also said special regulations will be set up to guide this move and the reopening of worship centres and other businesses will be made effective in two weeks time if only the people are ready to play by the rules.

The governor revealed that the state can no longer afford to keep people and businesses on lockdown considering the size of the state's economy. The governor in his words said:

"There is a regulation that will be introduced to supervise this move. We will be coming to supervise their facilities to assess their level of readiness for a future reopening. We want these businesses to begin to tune themselves to the reality of COVID-19..."
