Governor Wike orders 24hours curfew in Port Harcourt


The Rivers State governor Mr.Myesom Wike
have decided to announce a 24-hour curfew and the total lockdown of the entire Obio/Akpor and Port Harcourt City local government areas from Thursday, 7th May 2020.

Governor Wike in his statement said

      "All residents of the two local government areas; Obio/Akpor and Port Harcourt City must stay at home as it is part of the state government measures to check the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic."

He further stated that on no account should there be any movement or gathering of more than two persons in these local government areas, except those who provide essentials services with peculiar authorisation. All property owners which includes landlords are advised to ensure that on no account should any shop or trading activities be carried out in or around their premises or risk the confiscation of their property by the government.

He continued by promising violators of the lockdown and curfew in these local government areas to face the full wrath of the law.
