UNIOSUN final year student shot and set ablaze for refusing to join cult

A final year student of the department of Political Science in the Osun State University, Victor Oke has been allegedly hacked by cultists for refusing to join their cult group.

The University's PRO, Mr. Ademola Adesoji confirmed this in a statement issued on the 13th of December, 2021.

He said Victor was declared missing after he did not show up to write his final exam papers and it was later discovered that he was attacked by cultists in the early hours of Saturday December 11, 2021.

Victor had refused to join cult and this led him to be severally matcheted and partially set ablaze before he was eventually rescued.

Mr. Adesoji said:

“It was gathered that some of the eyewitnesses living in the area where the incident happened reported that they heard Oke Ademiju Victor shouting that he was not joining their cult, while they continued to hit him with cutlasses, hard stones and attempted to burn him, partially succeeding before he was eventually rescued.

“We have since been following up with the parents and it is confirmed that he was rushed to the university’s teaching hospital for treatment and later moved to an undisclosed hospital where he is currently receiving treatment."
