Tragedy as two Oko Polytechnic students and best friends get burnt to death in car accident
Two students of Federal Polytechnic Oko, have lost their lives in a ghastly car accident which happened in Anambra state on boxing day.
The two students who were said to be best friends in school were burnt to death when the accident occured.
The tragic accident which involved three vehicles, occurred on Agulu lake bridge near Golden Tulip Hotel Agulu in Anaocha Local Government Area.
Sector Public Education Officer, Margret Onabe revealed that the accident occurred due to wrong overtaking and over speeding on the sloppy bridge.
Around 20 people were reportedly involved in the crash — there were about 4 injured people comprising of 2 male adults and 2 female adults. The number of persons killed 11; 3 male adults, 1 female child and 7 people who were trapped inside the L300 bus and burnt beyond recognition. 5 passengers from the hijet bus were rescued alive and unhurt.
One of the poly students has been identified as Mmafor Chinyere Lotachukwu of the Business Adminsitration and Management Department and her roommate/best friend.
