Tanker drivers block Asaba - Onitsha express way, protest shooting of colleague by police

Tankers have blocked the Asaba-Onitsha express road to in solidarity to one of their colleagues who was reportedly shot by the police.

The road block according to some passer-by commenced at about 5am in the morning.

The tanker drivers who came out in their numbers blocked the popular Koka Junction on the express where construction works are currently going on

Although while others said the police shot a particular driver, others said the police only shot the tyre of the tanker.

The blocking of the Asaba-Onitsha express way which is a major road has now caused traffic jam inside the Asaba town.

The police could not be reached at the moment of filing this report for comments.
