Instagram Comedian "Cute Abiola" released from Naval detention, to still serve punishment

Popular Instagram skit maker Abdulgafar Ahmad aka Cute Abiola, had been released from custody by the Nigerian Navy.

This act was confirmed on Friday by Naval spokesperson, Commodore Suleman Dahun.

The Mantle Media can recall that Cute Abiola was declared missing on Monday, November 15, 2021, when his colleague Debo Adedayo aka Mr. Macaroni, raised an alarm about his whereabouts.

However, reports of the comedian missing were quashed by a statement from the Navy, which announced that Abiola was detained for contravening the military laws.

Dahun said Abiola posted a video of himself in military uniform on social media, which is a violation of the armed forces’ social media policy; The comedian also failed to report to the office when he was called to explain himself but was given a light punishment of a “one-month extra duty” when he was tried for misconduct and indiscipline.

Thus, Abiola has been released to serve his punishment.
