Gateman captured while attempting to sell boss's N3million vehicle for less than 10% its worth
The Cross River State Police Command captured one Godswill Ezekiel Ugbe, a gateman, for attempting to sell his manager's vehicle, assessed to cost N3 million for just around 10% of its value
The suspect got seized by the Anti-Kidnapping and Cultism Squad while he was driving the vehicle to a purchaser's place along Atimbo/Akpabuyo Road.
As indicated by a report, a security source said the Car, a Toyota Camry with Reg No: KT 114 LH, was recuperated through insight drove policing by Dragon crew.
It was accounted for that while on patrol along Atimbo Akpabuyo street, the Dragon crew located a Toyota Camry which they suspected was taken, on moving toward the vehicle the driver zoomed off heading towards Bakassi where Dragon pursued him and caught him.
Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Irene Ugbo, who affirmed the capture on Tuesday, November 30, said,
"He is a gateman employed to guard a compound and a few vehicles since the owners and his boss lives abroad, yet he chose to take a stab at auctioning off one of the vehicles.
Tragically for him, men of the Anti Kidnapping and Cultism Squad, AKCS, on the lookout presumed that the vehicle was stolen and followed him, after his capture they found he was attempting to sell the vehicle for a pitiful N350,000, that vehicle is around 3 million naira.
He has admitted to the wrongdoing and would be charged to court as quickly as time permits."
