"I killed Umoren out of self-defense and not intentionally" - suspected killer of Akwa Ibom job seeker reveals

The suspected killer of the late Akwa Ibom job seeker Uduak Frank Akpan, has disclosed his own side of the story about how Hinny Umoren died.

According to Uduak, he killed Umoren out of self defense and not intentionally as it has been said to be.

He said he actually invited Umoren for a job interview and when she came, he gave a condition of sleeping with her before she got a job which she agreed to.

"I invited her for a job and I asked her whether she can work in a farm as secretary. I told her that I wanted to sleep with her first. She agreed on a condition that I will use condom which I also agreed to. She became furious when I started removing the condom, and she attacked me. I was bleeding so I needed to defend myself by hitting her which lead to her death," he said. 

Uduak Frank was earlier rumoured to have committed suicide in prison. The Akwa Ibom police commissioner has however asked Uduak to appear before a press conference to debunk the rumour that he committed suicide.

Iniubong Umoren has been laid to rest in her hometown in Akwa Ibom state.
